JOB PURPOSE: Provides nursing services under the supervision and direction of a physician, advanced practice registered nurse, physician assistant, or registered nurse. Focuses on patient safety and is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies; in accordance with established standards of the Nurse Practice Act, accepted medical/nursing standards, policies and procedures of Spindletop Center. Will be responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and focused nursing care to assigned consumers with predictable health care needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited course in licensed or practical vocational nursing.
DEGREE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED (IF APPLICABLE): Valid Texas license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse issued by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.

Essential Tasks & Standards
1.Demonstrates nursing skills, proper techniques of administering various types of medication; knowledge of Center formulary.
2.Provides nursing services including medication administration, medication education and training and symptom management and Telemedicine - facilitation for medical provider in accordance with Center procedures at all times.
3.Enters lab results, non Center prescribed medication, medical conditions, and client reported medical history and conditions into the doctors homepage within one working
4.Prior to each client doctor's visit collects Vital signs, Abdominal girth, weight ? BMI, UDS/labs if ordered and records all information into the doctors homepage electronic health record.
5.Provides accurate, descriptive, and appropriate documentation in consumer records relating to medications and behavioral issues in accordance with guidelines set forth in the Nurse Practice Act and applicable standards
6.Maintains adequate nursing supplies at all times such that services are not delayed or postponed due to lack of supplies.
7.Collects data and performs focused nursing assessments of the health status of an individual.
8.Participates in the planning of the nursing care needs of an individual as required.
