JOB PURPOSE: The goal for the Mental Health First Aid Outreach Coordinator is to increase awareness of MHFA training, increase the number of MHFA training sessions available, and increase the number of overall trainings completed. It is the responsibility of the Outreach Coordinator to ensure that all requirements listed in the HHSC Mental Health First Aid Contract are met. Performs MHFA training to ensure the Center is in compliance with contract obligations. Work includes the preparation of reports, coordination of trainings throughout the 4-county area, collaboration with other Centers and cultivation of positive relationships with various community stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Four-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral or human services. Experience in public speaking or training preferred.
DEGREE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED (IF APPLICABLE): Four-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral or human services. Must complete and maintain certification as an instructor in Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid (to be completed upon employment if not currently certified).
