JOB PURPOSE: Provides services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Is responsible for overall program structure and supervision of assigned unit and programs. Performs direct care services, is responsible for unit classroom management and assignment of individuals to staff; monitors and assists staff with documentation; maintains supplies and inventory; conducts performance evaluations as needed. Collects data for program evaluations. Uses Center tools and techniques, principles and practices in conjunction with Person Directed Planning. Operates within the guidelines of the Performance Contract, HCS, and TxHmL Principles and Billing Guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED plus four (4) years' experience in the field of work related to the duties of the position. Bachelor's degree may substitute for three years of experience. Experience must include effective oral and written communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with 2 (two) years' experience in supervision, experience working with individuals with severe or profoundly intellectual deficits or with severe physical disabilities and experience with individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum and knowledge of behavior therapy techniques and SAMA.
