Quality Assurance-Evaluator Salary Range: $45,158-$49,345

JOB PURPOSE: Performs high level Quality Assurance work for programs and services throughout the center. Activities include, but are not limited to: taking lead on performance improvement projects, evaluation of center processes and policies, creating and managing data analysis tools, reporting on trends/anomalies; and developing training tools to address adverse performance or new standards. This position will also work alongside the compliance investigator to assist with the completion of compliance investigations. This position works under the general supervision of the Quality Management Program Coordinator with latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Four-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral or human services. One year of experience in direct care of adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, or individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities required, 3 years of direct care experience preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical auditing, quality assurance, compliance activities or analyzing data required.

DEGREE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED (IF APPLICABLE): Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Good spelling and grammar skills.
    • Ability to write progress notes according to standards, assessments, brief mental status exams, memos, letters, various complex reports and miscellaneous other documents with acceptable spelling and grammar.
    • Computer ? skilled in the use of technology with Microsoft Office and all Google applications.
    • Ability to manage others, including giving guidance and supervision, to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant code and statutes
    • Good communication skills and emotional intelligence in order to convey information in ways which are succinct, most easily received and understood, while maintaining adherence to exacting standards.

    • May be required to interact with other consumers, referral sources, outside agencies, and family members to determine needs and actions to be taken.
    • Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state.
    • Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Center's liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business.
    • Must complete all training requirements in month in which they are due.
    • May be required to provide on-call duties.
    • Availability of a personal vehicle for business use may be required.
    • Work will take place within office setting, community setting and within facilities, which may include hospitals and group homes.
    • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test
    • Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state
    • Must be physically able to conduct home/facility visits to include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, and standing for long periods if required.
    • Will attain CANS ANSA Superuser status within 12 months of hire.


    ESSENTIAL TASKS & STANDARDS

    • Participates in and supports UMQM Committee activities and planning.
    • Maintains current knowledge of all regulatory, statutory, federal, state, accrediting and contractual rules, standards, guidelines and laws related to Center programs.
    • Conducts monthly target reports to ensure compliance with state and federal funding expectations.
    • Participates in development, support and monitoring of Strategic Initiatives. Assists with implementation to ensure goals relevant to QA are met.
    • Participates in external audits, surveys and reviews of Center programs and services, and takes lead as assigned.
    • Participates in and supports performance improvement projects and takes lead as assigned.
    • Assists in providing technical support and consultation to Center programs and services related to regulatory, accrediting and contractual requirements.
    • Performs complex data analysis and makes recommendations to supervisor and leadership, as requested.
    • Assist in Compliance Investigation process.
    • Serves as backup for compliance training.
