Regional Program Director- Central MH & SUD Salary: $76,356 - $81,006

JOB PURPOSE:  Provides leadership and administrative oversight of the daily operation of the assigned region in the Behavioral Health Division as well as all assigned special programs. Provides programmatic direction to supervisors and staff who provide services to eligible client populations. Maintains subject matter expertise for adult mental health services. Establishes program goals, develops guidelines, procedures, policies and regulations for designated region and assigned programs. Supervises the employees of the region, directly or indirectly, and prepares or assists in preparing budgets and grant applications to funding sources. Ensures that all regulatory, accreditation, contractual, and grant requirements are maintained and prepares for external audits. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer with considerable latitude for the exercise of discretion and independent judgment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral, human services or business administration fields. Licensure in mental health discipline preferred. At least two (2) years of clinical or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. Prefer individual with knowledge of HHSC regulations for LMHA/LBHA; Texas CCBHC standards; CARF accreditation standards. Must demonstrate proven leadership, critical thinking, organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Good spelling and grammar skills.
  • Ability to write progress notes according to standards, assessments, memos, letters, various complex reports and miscellaneous other documents with acceptable spelling and grammar.
  • Computer - skilled in the use of technology with Microsoft Office and all Google applications.
  • Ability to input data into computer, make calculations, complete paperwork, produce reports.

  • May be required to interact with other consumers, referral sources, outside agencies, and family members to determine needs and actions to be taken.
  • Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state.
  • Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business.  Must be insurable by Center's liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business.
  • Must complete all training requirements in month in which they are due.
  • Availability of a personal vehicle for business use may be required.
  • Work will take place within office setting, community setting and within the homes of clients, which may include shelters and temporary housing.
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test
